Paws & Play Combine in Fun Petting Zoo Experience

June 12, 2024 (Forest City, NC) – On June 4, the Play to Learn program at Partnership for Children of the Foothills hosted a petting zoo hands-on learning experience where 20 children and 23 adults combined playing with learning about little critters.

Kids enjoyed Sprinkles Mobile Petting Zoo, a portable setup. The children got up close and personal with the animals, and for many children, a mobile petting zoo can be their first opportunity to see and touch animals of this nature.

“The Partnership for Children of the Foothills was pleased to partner with Sprinkles Mobile Petting Zoo to bring a hands-on learning experience to our Play to Learn groups,” said Jessica Osteen, Program Director at Partnership for Children of the Foothills. “The kids involved nearly all their senses in this interactive experience, which goes a long way to helping children develop and grow.”

The Play 2 Learn program promotes positive and healthy outcomes for our youngest children and supports parents and caregivers as they prepare their young ones for kindergarten. Through peer-to-peer and hands-on activities, parents and caregivers learn what they can do at home to support their children’s growth. In addition to the fun your children will have, meeting together provides parents and caregivers a sense of community and mutual support.

To inquire about participating in one of the three groups, please contact Kay Dawkins at 828-289-5213 or via email at playtolearn@pfcfoothills.org.
