Circle Up, Parents! New Support Group in Polk County  Offers Connection, Coffee and Kid Time

Free weekly sessions help parents of young children connect, learn and grow — together.

June 30, 2025 (Forest City, NC) – Parenting can be both joyful and challenging — especially in the early years. That’s why Partnership for Children of the Foothills is expanding its Circle of Parents program, now offering a new support group in Polk County, starting Wednesday, July 16, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Columbus library branch.

This weekly, free-of-charge group is designed specifically for parents and caregivers of children ages birth to five. Whether you’re navigating sleepless nights, toddler tantrums or simply want to connect with others who “get it,” you’ll find encouragement, ideas and understanding in a warm, welcoming environment.

While parents participate in meaningful conversations and group activities, experienced child care teachers engage your little ones in fun, age-appropriate play nearby. Healthy snacks are provided for both adults and children.

“Parents are their child’s first and most important teacher,” says Jessica Osteen, Program Director at the Partnership for Children of the Foothills. “Circle of Parents gives families a place to grow together, find new tools and build a support network that lasts.”

Groups are also offered in McDowell and Rutherford counties. All sessions are free, and no registration is required — just come as you are.
